The gold-palladium-silver alloy spray basket has excellent properties such as corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and wear resistance, making it widely used in extrusion pelletized processes in highly corrosive and high-temperature environments, such as in the chlorine-alkali industry. The number of holes and hole diameters can be customized according to requirements. However, its unit price is very high. Currently, we can produce Inconel 600 alloy spray baskets as a temporary substitute, as its working lifetime is a short.
Caustic Soda Spray Basket
The Spray basket is a critical component in an extrusion pelletizer. It directly impacts the quality of the pelletized alkali , production efficiency, and the durability of the equipment. Essentially, the spray basket plays a central role in the pelletized process, where its design, material selection, and manufacturing process significantly influence the final alkali pellets quality and equipment performance.
Functions of the Spray Basket
1. Control alkali pellets Shape:
The spray basket has multiple holes through which molten material is extruded to form pellets. The number, size, and shape of these holes directly determine the size and uniformity of the pellets. Smaller hole diameters produce smaller pellets, while larger hole diameters result in larger pellets.
2. Distribute Material:
During the pelletized process, molten materials (such as sodium hydroxide, resin, metal, etc.) are forced through the holes of the spray basket. The design of the basket must ensure even distribution of the material and prevent clogging or the production of irregular pellets.
Characteristics of Gold-Palladium-Silver Alloy Granulation Basket
1.Corrosion Resistance:
Gold-palladium-silver alloy offers exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in highly alkaline environments, effectively resisting the corrosive effects of substances like sodium hydroxide and sodium chloride. This makes it well-suited for the pellets of materials like sodium hydroxide and chlorine-alkali products.
2.High-Temperature Resistance:
This alloy can maintain excellent performance at temperatures up to 400°C, making it suitable for the pellets of molten sodium hydroxide.
3.Mechanical Strength:
The high strength and wear resistance of this alloy prevent damage or deformation caused by friction or pressure when in contact with molten materials.

Due to the high cost of gold-palladium-silver alloy spray baskets, our company has developed spray baskets made from Inconel 600. These are more affordable but have the drawback of a shorter lifespan.
