Gr2 titanium tee

In chlor alkali plants, titanium tees are used to divert or combine the flow of highly corrosive fluids, such as sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and chlorine. These tees are made of Grade 2 titanium, which has high strength and excellent corrosion resistance to the aggressive chemicals used in the process.

Specification

  • Material: Titanium Gr2
  • Standard: ASME B16.9, ASTM B363
  • Size: 1/2″ to 48″ or customized
  • Wall thickness: Sch5s to Sch160
  • Pressure rating: 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#
  • End connections: Welded, threaded, or flanged
  • Surface treatment: Pickling and passivation

These specifications may vary depending on the specific application and requirements of the chlor alkali plant.

Advantages

  1. Corrosion Resistance: Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance properties, which makes it an ideal material for use in chlor alkali plants. It can withstand highly corrosive fluids, such as caustic soda, without getting damaged or corroded.
  2. High Strength: Titanium has a high strength-to-weight ratio, making it stronger than most metals while being lighter in weight. This feature makes it easier to handle and transport in the plant.
  3. Longevity: Titanium has a long life span and is resistant to fatigue and erosion, ensuring that the tee will last for many years without requiring frequent replacement.
  4. Low Maintenance: Due to its corrosion resistance properties, Gr2 titanium tee requires minimal maintenance, resulting in lower maintenance costs and downtime.
  5. Compatibility with other Materials: Titanium is compatible with other materials used in chlor alkali plants, such as PVC, CPVC, and fiberglass, making it a versatile material for piping and fittings.
