Titanium
Titanium can form an oxide film in the air to protect the titanium substrate from corrosion. This oxide film exists steadily below the medium temperature of 315 degrees Celsius. Adding molybdenum, nickel, palladium and other metals to titanium can enhance the corrosion resistance of titanium.
Materials: Gr2/Gr7/Gr12 Titanium
Grade 2—Unalloyed titanium, this is pure titanium type. Its purity is more than 97%. Relatively speaking, the higher the purity of titanium, the better the corrosion resistance (except titanium palladium, and titanium nickel zirconium alloy).
Grade 7—Unalloyed titanium plus 0.12 to 0.25 % palladium. In addition to Gr7, Gr11 is also a common titanium-palladium alloy. These titanium-palladium alloys contain the same amount of palladium but have a slightly different purity of titanium. Gr11 titanium purity is slightly higher, the material is relatively soft, compared with Gr7 is more common.
Grade 12—Titanium alloy (0.3 % molybdenum,0.8 % nickel), For environments where crevice corrosion or pitting corrosion often occurs, titanium molybdenum nickel Gr12 alloy are commonly used in the heat exchanger.
Gr.12 and Gr.7 offer considerably improved resistance to crevice corrosion compared to unalloyed titanium (Gr.2). These alloys have not shown any indication of any corrosion in laboratory tests in neutral saturated brines to temperatures in excess of 600°F (316°C). Gr. 12 maintains excellent resistance to crevice corrosion down to pH values of about 3. Below pH 3, Gr.7 offers distinctly better resistance than Gr.12.
Gr.12 or Gr.7 will resist crevice corrosion in boiling, low pH salt solutions which corrode Gr.2.
Application:
The fan extracts the furnace gas from the roasting furnace and passes through the double cyclone separator, pre-concentrator, and absorption tower. At the same time, the combustion exhaust gas is discharged through the washing tower and the exhaust chimney, so that the whole process equipment can maintain a negative pressure to prevent the leakage of HCl gas come out. The negative pressure of the system is adjusted by the motor inverter.
The temperature of hydrochloric acid gas for acid regeneration is generally below 100 degrees, the concentration is below 6%, and the individual is below 10%. According to the corrosion resistance characteristics of titanium: titanium-palladium alloy (Gr7) has the best performance, while titanium-molybdenum-nickel alloy (Gr12) is better than pure titanium (Gr2). According to the company’s tracking of the use of titanium fans in the acid regeneration industry for many years, some products can continue to use pure titanium (Gr2), but most products must use titanium-palladium alloy (Gr7) due to corrosion, but the price of such alloys is relatively high. The fan is a single-suction type, and there are seven models 75/90/110/132/160/200/315. It can be made into six angles of the left and right rotation 0 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 135 degrees, 180 degrees, and 225 degrees. The transmission mode is D type.
