China’s advancements in lithium battery technology have reached a new pinnacle with the recent successful trial production of 6μm lithium battery copper foil, spanning an impressive width of 1820mm. This achievement demonstrates stable tension, a smooth surface, and adherence to stringent specifications for surface density and current density, marking a groundbreaking leap in domestic copper foil production.
The trial underwent rigorous calibration, including seven staged current adjustments and two different flow rate calibrations. The resulting performance showcased the titanium cathode drum operating seamlessly, maintaining consistent tension throughout the process. The trial production of three drums of copper foil displayed uniform surface density, achieving a remarkable maximum current density of 8000A/m² and a peak current production of 62000A. These outcomes significantly meet the requirements for 1820mm wide copper foil production, validating the feasibility of this cutting-edge technology.
This milestone was accomplished through the utilization of an equipment prototype—a lithium battery integrated machine boasting a width of 1820mm. This accomplishment marks the industry’s inaugural successful application case for such wide-width lithium battery copper foil production equipment. Prior to this breakthrough, the maximum width attainable by lithium battery integrated machines was restricted to 1730mm. The successful trial production of the 2700*1820mm cathode roller and lithium battery integrated machine in China has set a new benchmark, shattering previous records in the production of wide-width copper foils domestically.
This achievement not only showcases China’s technological prowess in lithium battery manufacturing but also underscores the nation’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the energy storage sector.
